A modern icon gets a sustainable refresh. The About A Collection is now made from 100% post-consumer plastic and has been released in nine new colours in fresh, playful tones.
The About A Collection (AAC) is now made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic, taking Hee Welling’s iconic seating collaboration with HAY in a more sustainable direction.
In addition, the wooden bases are sourced from FSC-certified forests, with all the chairs and stools in the AAC Eco range featuring the EU Ecolabel.
The AAC Eco range is available in multiple colour possibilities and can be adapted to harmoniously integrate into all kinds of interior spaces – public, private or corporate – and with a good conscience.

RECYCLED MATERIAL /
With the objective of recreating HAY’s iconic AAC series to reduce the impact on the environment, the About A Collection Eco uses 100% post-consumer recycled plastic; a material derived from household waste, like televisions and washing machines.
The plastic is collected, sorted and cleaned in recycling programmes, before being reprocessed into About A Collections Eco shells.
The About A Collection Eco uses 100% recycled polypropylene derived from material from households.

In addition, the AAC wooden bases are sourced from FSC-certified forests, and finally, the About A Chair and About A Stool carries the EU Ecolabel – a stamp given to products that have secured a high environmental standard throughout their entire life cycle.
The EU Ecolabel is an uncomplicated way for consumers to identify an environmentally friendly product.

The About A Collection has also been updated in a wide palette of contemporary new colours, with HAY’s characteristically fresh and playful approach to colour ensuring the collection remains ever relevant with endless interplay and combination possibilities.

The collection’s versatility means that we have seen the chair used in so many different contexts – from canteens to office environments and people’s kitchens at home – so, the demands to find a colour scale that suited all these contexts were high. With all this said, the colour palette that we present today came quite naturally."

The About A Collection offers a diverse range of chair and stool designs suitable for dining, office, and lounge spaces.
The seating options come in various sizes and can be chosen with or without armrests. You can also select from a wide array of seat colours made from 100% recycled plastic or textiles. When it comes to the base, you have the choice of four legs, a star base, a sled base, or castors, all available in a variety of materials and finishes.
