Spring Is Here: The Outdoor Edit
Outdoor furniture asks a lot of a design. It has to handle weather, sunlight and a certain amount of enthusiasm, while still looking like something you'd happily eat breakfast beside. HAY's outdoor range has always answered that with the same thinking applied indoors: good materials, clear structure, colour used with intent.
Five collections lead the season, and each one solves a different kind of outdoor space.

[NEW] Palissade - Now With Cantilever
Designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Palissade is united by visual simplicity and core strength, shaped in colour and form to sit naturally in a landscape or a streetscape. It's the collection people know: steel, symmetrical, built to be left out.
This season it gains a new silhouette. Palissade Cantilever is a lighter expression of the original, defined by a floating frame, slender geometry and a gentle flex that makes sitting feel more responsive. Put one at the head of an existing Palissade Table and the whole setting shifts.

[NEW] Deville - The Bistro Set, Reconsidered
New this season. Julien Renault's Deville takes its cue from the spirit of 1920s Thonet chairs, after a visit to a long-loved restaurant in his home city of Brussels. Generous proportions and softly curved frames give the collection a warm, open character.
It's made from at least 60% post-consumer recycled aluminium, rust-resistant and easy to move, across stackable chairs, armchairs and compact tilt-top tables. Ideal for a balcony that has to be a dining room one minute and a walkway the next.

[NEW] Terrazza Parasol - Shade, With Stripes
Also new. Made from durable, UV-safe fabric on a sturdy aluminium pole, the Terrazza Parasol is built to brighten gardens, patios and balconies, with an adjustable pole offering two height positions.
The wider Terrazza look runs on wide contrasting stripes in summery colours, with solid tones for anyone who'd rather keep things quiet. The fastest way to make a courtyard feel deliberate.

Traverse - Aluminium And Ash
Erwan Bouroullec designed Traverse to blend in wherever it lands. A die-cast aluminium frame carries slats in heat-treated ash, pairing a robust build with a surface that patinates as it ages.
Chairs, tables, stools and benches make up the collection, balanced for comfort as much as looks. It also flat-packs by design - Bouroullec intended Traverse to be assembled by the person who buys it.

Crate - A 1934 Idea, Still Working
Gerrit Rietveld designed the original in 1934 as a way of using up surplus wooden shipping crates. Relaunched as a Rietveld Originals x HAY collaboration, it's made in solid pine with a water-based lacquered finish across a range of colours.
Honest, chunky, unfussy - the collection that looks best a few seasons in.
